How this calculator works
- Uses the 2026-27 resident tax rates (the 16% rate fell to 15% from 1 July 2026), compared with 2025-26.
- Residents receive the low income tax offset where eligible.
- The Medicare levy is 2%, reduced for low incomes using the single thresholds of $28,011 to $35,013.
- The Medicare levy surcharge applies to singles without private hospital cover above $105,000 in 2026-27 ($101,000 in 2025-26).
- HELP repayments use the marginal repayment system and treat your income as repayment income.
- Deductions, other offsets, family thresholds and super contributions are not included.
Results are general estimates only and are not credit, tax or financial advice. They do not take your objectives, financial situation or needs into account. Check the figures with a licensed professional before making a decision.
