How this calculator works
- Your borrowing power is assessed at the higher of your interest rate plus a 3% serviceability buffer (the buffer APRA expects lenders to use) or a floor rate of 5.75%.
- Living expenses are the higher of the figure you enter or an indicative minimum for your household and number of dependants.
- Credit card limits count as a monthly commitment of 3.8% of the total limit, whether or not you use the cards.
- Enter income after tax. Lenders may treat bonuses, overtime, rent and self-employed income differently.
- The result is rounded down to the nearest $1,000. Repayments are shown at your actual rate, not the assessment rate.
- Fortnightly and weekly repayments are the monthly repayment expressed per fortnight and per week.
Results are general estimates only and are not credit, tax or financial advice. They do not take your objectives, financial situation or needs into account. Check the figures with a licensed professional before making a decision.
